Chair for Power Electronics

Welcome!
Research and education of the chair is dedicated to the field of modern power electronics: It is based on power semiconductor devices. They are assembled in power electronic converters which are used for energy efficient power conversion. There is a variety of applications such as power supplies and drive systems - e. g. for feeding renewable energy into the electric grid, as traction converters for electric vehicles, and also in everyday's life as computer power supplies or in appliances.

The chair belongs to the Institute of  Electric Power Systems as part of the Faculty for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg.
